  • Lexie Holliday

    Public Art Committee Chair

Lexie moved to the Hilltop at the end of 2020. A lifelong volunteer and a graduate of CCAD, she always keeps any eye out for ways to connect with her community. When Summer Jam West promoted their new name and branding as the Hilltop Arts Collective, she knew she wanted to become an active member. Lexie is passionate about making spaces for art and enjoys the community it creates.

When not volunteering, she can typically be found on her bicycle, at a coffee shop playing board games, or occasionally painting a mural over at 934 Gallery.

  • Alan Jazak

    Secretary

Alan Jazak is a professional graphic designer with his own business on the Hilltop, Formation Studio. He’s been central to the organization since the idea phase. Alan does all of our graphic design work and holds contracts with many high-profile groups including Columbus Gay Men's Choir, GCAC, and Puffin Foundation West. He donates many hours of his time not only to Hilltop Art Collective, but other organizations like Westgate Neighbors Association.

Alan surrounds himself with art - ceramics, paintings, sculptures, photos, and prints literally fill his household. He enjoys attending theatre/dance productions, and art exhibitions. His own artwork is in the category of photo collage.

Watching Columbus embrace the arts is his biggest joy.

  • Philip Kim

    Marketing Committee Chair

Philip Kim is Marketing & Communications Manager for the Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF). Philip comes to the board with an eclectic background in arts and culture, political science, non-profit management, and marketing. Philip earned his B.A. with concentrations in Comparative Studies and English from The Ohio State University.

  • Danny Peterson

    Board President

It was affordable rent that first brought Danny to the Hilltop in 2013, but it was the sense of community that convinced him and his wife to buy a house here in 2015. After responding to a social media post to help deliver fliers for Summer Jam West in 2015, he began volunteering, and later joined the board in 2016 after being inspired by the organization’s focus on public art and community. Following the retirement of founder Patti Von Niessen in 2020, Danny was elected board president.

Professionally, Danny is a supply chain consultant for Cardinal Health, where he works on a Center of Excellence (COE) analytics project team. When he’s not sitting in front of a screen, Danny enjoys hiking with his wife, ultimate frisbee, reading, and volunteering for other Hilltop organizations.

  • Stefanie Schirtzinger

    Board Member

Stefanie Schirtzinger is the Assistant Manager at Westgate Community Center, where she teaches a variety of classes, including ceramics, art, and preschool. She also leads the Westgate Theatre Company. Stefanie is new to our board but not new to the Hilltop! She spent her first 18 years here split between Highland West and Westgate. After graduating from The Ohio State University, she worked at a COSI as a Spectrum Player before landing a job with Columbus Recreation and Parks. Stefanie has been working at Westgate Community Center for the past 10 years, and is glad to be back on the West Side!

  • Jack Varanese

    Board Member

He also owns and operates Aisling Clothing, a local Columbus-based apparel company. Prior to moving back to Columbus in 2016, Jack played football overseas in Brisbane, Australia.

After learning about Hilltop Arts Collective, Jack found that his passion for street art, as well as making art more visible in public spaces and available to the community, meshed seamlessly with HAC’s mission. He joined in order to help drive the public art focus of the group, with intent on bringing murals and installations to the Hilltop community and opportunity to local artists. In his free time, Jack can be found messing around with new designs for his clothing business, keeping up with fitness, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns.

  • Pam Weaver

It feels like Pam knows just about everyone on the Hilltop, and her relationships in the community reflect that.

Pam’s involvement in the Hilltop spans the Hilltop Business Association, Hilltop Area Commission, Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, area Boy and Girl Scout troops, and numerous Block Watches.
